Essig, ’96, finished the season with 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points in 42 games played for the blue and orange.
“I'm extremely excited to have the chance to play college hockey. I've put so much time and effort in over the years and I'm so grateful it has paid off," Essig said.
Essig, a Columbus, Ohio native, is the 11th PAL player to commit to a NCAA school this season.
“The coaches really pushed me to become a leader on and off the ice. All the ice time PAL made available made to me really help me improve my skills and confidence,” he added.
Lawrence competes at the NCAA Division III level in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association and is coached by Mike Szkodzinski, who is in his 12th season.
PAL would like to congratulate Cole and the rest of the Essig family on this wonderful accomplishment.
