Richmond Generals Defenseman Jack Zielinski Commits to Niagara University

Richmond Generals Defenseman Jack Zielinski ( 6'2 200 RD RS 1996 ) commits to Niagara University . The Purple Eagles play at the NCAA Division 1 level of play in the Atlantic Hockey Conference. 
   Jack is a perfect example of the Generals pyramid of development . Jack has grown up playing in the Generals youth program his whole life before moving on to play U16 and U18 AAA in the Generals Tier 1 program. Jack than moved on to play for the Generals Junior team and finished playing for the Generals Elite team in the USPHL. Jack was selected to the USPHL Southern Conference All - Star team as well as winning the Generals team award for " MVP Defense " that same year. 

   Jack appeared in 38 regular season games for the Generals USPHL Elite Team in the 2014 - 2015 season scoring 4 goals and adding 18 assists for 22 points with 24 PIM. Jack also appeared in 4 playoff games adding 1 assist for 1 point with 2 PIM.   Jack has played for the Generals U16AAA, U18AAA, MJHL and USPHL Elite Junior Teams appearing in 126 regular season games scoring 15 goals while adding 64 assists for 79 points with 52 PIM. Jack also appeared in 13 Playoff Games in total scoring 2 goals while adding 5 assists for 7 points with 4 PIM. 

   Zielinski on playing for the Generals ," Playing for the Generals was a great experience for me, Coach Lyke taught me the values and gave me the tools I needed to be successful at the next level. The time I spent with the Generals was invaluable to get me to where I am today . I am forever grateful for what the organization provided me as a player and young man.  I will always be proud to be a General !!"

   Coach Lyke on Zielinski ," Jack is an extremely strong skating powerful defenseman . Jack has a very good set of hands and a strong hockey IQ which make him able to play in any and all situations on the ice . Jack is able to put up points and add offense from the back end while also providing a very strong ,reliable, physical defensive prescence. Jack has one of the best work ethics of any player I have ever coached which will make him extremely successful in whatever he chooses to do in the future. I cannot say enough about his character as a person and teammate both on and off the ice. The Eagles are not only getting a quality hockey player but an even better young man for their program. "

   Jack becomes the 28th Generals player to commit to a college for next season.
