The Eels announce the signing of Rookie 6’1” Forward Cameron Carnes from Taunton, MA. Cameron had played for the Eels at the Pro Am Sr. Chowder Cup in Boston, MA over the Summer. The Eels coaching staff really liked what they saw in this young man.
Elite coach Greg Sears commented, “Carnes at 6’1” has some great size, effective battling in the corners and won the loose puck battles against some very big boys in Boston. He knows how to effectively use his body to his advantage. These players we played against were very seasoned Junior and Freshman college players and Cameron performed very well against them.”
Premier Coach Frankie Scarpaci said, “He liked the way Cameron drove to the net. He seems to relish getting the puck to the net. Shooting is so much part of the game. So many players simply turn up scoring opportunities by failing to shoot. It was nice to see he is willing to step up and do what is needed. This kid can be a difference maker and with the right training he will improve his game many fold.”
GM Scarpaci also stated, that he likes this young man’s attitude. He possesses the character traits that the Eels are always looking for in building their program. He appears to have the determination, willing to give the unwavering dedication and effort that makes a player a college player. It takes hard work, effort and requires 100% of his time every day at practice. Each time he hits the ice. Every shift of every period. This is what we expect from him.
Cameron wants to advance to the next level and that is college! He is putting everything on the line here. His family is 100% supporting his dreams and know it will take hard work and dedication over the next months to make this a reality. We are thrilled he elected to join the Eels and know he will train with the heart and intensity that we expect from all of our players.
