On Saturday in front a raucous crowd, the CT Jr Rangers would get their first home with of the season behind the stalwart goaltending of Conor O’Brien. He would get the win in net making 42 saves on the night. After a 0-0 first period, the Jr Bruins would capitalize on an early misread by the Rangers and make it 1-0. The Rangers would even the game up on a beautiful goal out of the corner by John DeRoche, assisted by Noah Strawn and Dmitri Stefanou. The Rangers would grab the lead half way through the 3rd period on a Power Play goal by Colin Slyne from Takato Cox and Matt Cousino. The Jr Bruins would tie the game up 2 mins later, on a snipe by Johnny Mulera on a delayed penalty. The Rangers would kill off the penalty and eventually score the game winner off the stick of Patrick Kissell, his goal was assisted by Jack Hannan and Jordin Holmes.
On Sunday, the CT Jr Rangers would be the ones to get on the board first with a nice regroup in the NZ springing Brent Jones in on a 2 on 1 on Elijah Harris. Jones would score on a hard rising wrister over the glove of Harris, assists would go to John DeRoche and Drew Hickey. The Jr Bruins would get even on a Penalty shot goal by Dallas Farrell and would take the lead on a 2 on 1 goal late in the 2nd period, Cipillone from Farrell. The Rangers would even the score early in the 3rd period on a beautiful break out and shot from the wing to beat Harris five hole. Jack Hannan would be the one to tie the game up from Kissell and Stefanou. Regulation would end in a 2-2 tie and overtime would decide this one. After a back and forth rush, the Rangers Drew Hickey would gather the puck and carry it up ice. With no pressure he carried the puck in to the offensive zone, cutting across the slot, he was able get off a wrist shot that beat Harris over the blocker for the 3-2 OT Win. O’Brien would be the story in goal keeping the Jr Bruins at bay in the first period stopping 18 of 18 shots. It is his 7th win of the season.
