Forward of the Week
Mark Cheremeta, Islanders Hockey Club
Cheremeta dominated the weekend scoring 3 goals and adding 4 assists in two wins over the visiting Syracuse Stars. The highly skilled forwards game is full of confidence and he showed just how much when in a shootout on Sunday he pulled off the move of the year with a "Kucherov" type goal to win the game. "You have to possess NHL skill to even think about attempting that move in practice, let alone to win a game in a shootout and then pull it off," stated GM/Head Coach Sean Tremblay. For Mark it isn't a matter "if" but "when" he goes Division One. Cheremeta has claimed to the top three of the league leaders and at the moment shows no signs of slowing down.
Defenseman of the Week
Mortiz Wirth, Boston Bandits
Moritz had 4 points in the Boston Bandits two wins over the NJ Rockets, including two goals: with one being the game winner.
