Congratulations to Premier Forward, Jake Cimarusti on his commitment to St. Anselm College for the fall of 2018!
The Northern Cyclones Premier team is proud to announce their 6th college commitment of the 2017-2018 season. Jake Cimarusti has committed to Saint Anselm College for the fall of 2018.
Jake is currently in his second season in a Cyclones uniform. Jake started his Cyclones career two years ago on the U18 Tier 1 team. During that year Jake also played 12 games on the Cyclones Elite team. Prior to this season, Jake had a Cyclones Career stat line of 36-39-75 in 89 games. Last season, Jake played a season in Canada in the NOJHL and decided to return to the Northern Cyclones in his final year of junior hockey, so he could be seen by more colleges.
So far this season the Buffalo Grove, IL native has a stat line of 13-23-36 in only 36 games. Jake is currently fourth on the team in points, third in goals, and second in assists. Cimarusti has played on the Cyclones top point production line all season. The line of three Illinois natives have combined for a combined point total of 119. Jake will be joining those linemates Kilian Hammersmith and Anthony Iacullo next year at St. Anselm College.
The undersized forward is considered a two-way player who plays three times his size. Cimarusti enters every game with a chip on his shoulder and never backs down from anyone. Jake also has the ability to put up points and make an impact every time the puck is on his stick. He will be looking to bring his maturity, dedication, work ethic, and his ability to the Hawks line up next season.
When Premier Head Coach Bill Weiand was asked about Jake, he had this to say; “I’ve known Jake for three years now and I am very proud to see how he has grown as a person. St. A’s is getting a very serious young man who is dedicated on the ice, in the classroom, and in the weight room. I wish Jake the best of luck the next four years and I can’t wait to watch him play at St. A’s.”– Coach Bill Weiand
Saint Anselm College is a private university in New Hampshire and they compete in the NE-10. St. A’s is not just known for their hockey program, but the college is a very respected academic institution. The hockey team is currently 7-4-0 in the NE-10 and 10-9-1 overall this season.
When asked about his recent commitment and time with the Northern Cyclones Jake had this to say;
“I am proud to announce my commitment to Saint Anselm College. I would like to thank Coach Bill Weiand for being a coach, guardian, and role model for me. I would also like to thank the Cyclones for developing me into the person I am today. They have made a huge impact in my life and they gave me an opportunity to showcase my skills.”
“I would also like to thank Coach Tortorella at Saint A’s for the opportunity to study and play hockey at such a well-respected school.”
The Northern Cyclones would like to congratulate Jake and his family on this great accomplishment and wish them the best of luck in the future.
