Forward of the Week

Kurt LaPak,  Chicago Cougars

LaPak, a candidate for the unsung hero award this season, brought his hard hat on the road to Detroit for the 2 game series with the Fighting Irish. Despite missing the scoresheet Saturday, LaPak registered valuable minutes on the Penalty Kill registering 4 blocked shots in the game leading the Cougars defensive effort. Sunday afternoon, LaPak again was fearless in the Defensive zone blocking 3 shots, but also had a Goal and an Assist helping the Cougars to the 5-3 win and weekend split.

Defenseman of the Week

Ben Lamm, Hudson Havoc

Lamm, captain of the Hudson Havoc, played one game this past weekend on Saturday vs Steele County Blades in which he collected 3 points. (1G, 2A) Ben played like a true leader and was the most dominate player on the ice all night. Contributing 2 assists in regulation to mount a 3rd period Havoc come back. He then finished off the comeback for the Havoc in overtime with a goal off a beautiful rush in which he slide the puck between his legs to beat a defender before rushing to the net to score!!

Goalie of the Week

Mason Lovich , Minnesota Mullets

Lovich stopped 49 of 50 shots against second place Wisconsin Rapids River Kings in a 4-1 win on Monday. He followed that performance up with a shutout versus the third place Minnesota Blue Ox on 38 shots in a 4-0 route of the Ox on Saturday night.
