Cameron on playing for the Generals," It was a great experience playing in Richmond under such a dedicated, committed, and passionate coaching staff. They are the type of hockey guys I grew admiring when I was younger. Besides playing hockey, Richmond is a great place to be and play junior hockey. The capital of the South offers a strong historical aura, as well as a vibrant downtown with numerous activities for players to take part in and enjoy during the season. Overall the Generals have an extremely strong Junior hockey program and a coaching staff committed to moving players to the next level. If you buy in and trust the process you will have success and be rewarded. They have given me the opportunity to accomplish my goal of playing NCAA Division 3 College Hockey and I am very grateful to them for that. "
Coach Adams on Sangster," We are extremely excited that Cam has chosen Becker to continue his hockey career as a student-athlete. Coach Lyke and the Generals have done an excellent job in preparing him to play NCAA Division 3 college hockey here next season. We are looking forward to Cam's dynamic of grit, skill, and hockey IQ to contribute to our lineup for the next 4 years. With Cam I know I am getting a player who has been taught to play the game the right way with passion, skill, compete, and grit."
Coach Lyke on Sangster, " Cam is the type of player you love coaching because he plays the game every shift with passion and fire and is willing to do whatever it takes all the time to help the team win every night. Cameron has excellent hands ,strong hockey IQ ,and a good quick accurate shot. He is a power forward that excels in the tough areas especially along the walls, corners, and in front of the net. He excels on the Power-play and Penalty Kill because of his strong hockey IQ ,excellent puck distribution skills, and willingness to out compete and battle his opponents every shift. Cameron was recruited by many NCAA Division 3 and ACHA Division 1 schools this year because of his excellent two way play all season. I am very excited for Cam and I know Coach Adams is getting a young man who will not only excel for him on the ice but in the classroom as a student athlete."
Cameron becomes the 2nd Generals player this year to commit to a College hockey program. He joins Mike Curran (Aquinas College NAIA). Look for many more college hockey commitments coming from the Generals, as we have numerous players who will be making there college hockey choices in the next few weeks.
