Costa on playing for the Generals," It was a priviledge to play for the Richmond Generals and their excellent Coaching staff for my last year of Juniors. The Coaches taught me to work to my strengths as a player and made me feel appreciated for the contributions that I brought to the team. I enjoyed playing this year with such a competitive and talented team and made many great friendships and memories. Since my playing days as a U16/U18 AAA Midget player the organization has always felt like home because of the way the Coaching staff cares about each player. The Generals not only develop you as a hockey player but also as a young man. I knew Coach lyke and the Generals organization could help me achieve my goal of playing NCAA College hockey and I am grateful for the oppurtunity that I now have."
Coach Lyke on Costa," Peter is a big ,strong, heavy power forward that is tough to play against. Peter competes hard every shift and likes to finish his hits and win his 1 on 1 battles all over the ice. Peter does very well on the penalty kill and will make many contributions to his team that are invaluable that do not show up on the scoresheet every night. Peter moves well for a big man and has a nice scoring touch around the net where he can help his team add some secondary scoring. It is great to see how far Peter has come since playing with our youth teams not only as a player but more importantly as a young man. I look forward to watching Peter continue his growth next season not only as a player but as a student athlete at Anna Maria College with Coach McCauley and the Amcats."
Peter becomes the 6th Richmond Generals player to commit to a College Hockey Program for next season. He joins fellow Generals Players Zach Pierce ( Worcester State NCAA Division 3 ), Cameron Sangster ( Becker College NCAA Division 3 ), JT Kossakowski ( Southern New Hampshire University NCAA Division 2 ) , Chad Lopez ( University of Wisconsin Superior NCAA Division 3 ), Mike Curran ( Aquinas College NAIA ).
