Congratulations to NCDC Forward, Aaron Aragon on his recent commitment to University of New England for the Fall of 2018!
The Northern Cyclones NCDC team is proud to announce their 8th college commitment of the 2017-2018 season. Aaron Aragon has committed to the University of New England in Portland, NE. The 1997-born forward came to the Cyclones in this season after playing last year in the SJHL with the Melville Millionaires. Before last year he played between the BCHL and KIJHL. Last year his stat line was 10-12-22 in 53 SJHL games. Aaron came to the Cyclones looking for more of an opportunity and a chance to be seen by more scouts than the last two years.
The Whittier, CA native contributed for the Cyclones in many ways this past season. He was a player who could put up points consistenly, but at the same time get under the opponents skin. This past season Aaron had a stat line of 16-21-137 in 49 games. He finished second on the team in goals, third in assists, and third in points.
Aaron is considered a two-way forward who competes on every shift and has the ability to make plays consistently. He is player who could put up points consistently, but at the same time get under the opponents skin.
University of New England is a private university in Partland, ME and they compete in one of the toughest Division 3 conferences in the nation, the Commonwealth Coast Conference. UNE went 15-5-3 in conference and 20-6-3 overall this past season. The team won the CCC and advanced to the NCAA Division 3 National tournament, where they lost to Colby College. UNE will be expecting Aaron to have an impact right away, like he did for the Cyclones.
The Northern Cyclones would like to congratulate Aaron and his family on this great accomplishment and wish them the best of luck in the future
