CJR Look Back at 2017 NCDC Entry Draft
April 25, 2018
As CJR prepares for the upcoming 2018 NCDC Entry Draft, we take a look back at last year’s Entry Draft and specifically 7 players. Four who made impact this past season, and three who look to make impact in 2018-19 season.
Takato Cox, Richard Zemánek, Mathieu Gervais and Devin Lowe all came from different organizations. After competing in Pre-Draft, Main and Training Camp, they were able to make the final 23 man roster. Each played an important role in helping CJR reach the semi-finals. Takato Cox had 44 pts in 50 games along with 4 pts in 5 playoff games. Mathieu Gervais and Devin Lowe were solid in every role they were asked to play. Injuries cut Gervais season short but he always made impact when in the lineup. Richard Zemánek was one of CJR best shut down D. Primarily matched up against opposing teams top lines.
Ian Murphy, Hunter Brackett and Kevin Lassman were all drafted last year and returned to their prep schools. CJR is very excited to have all three joining the program next year. Ian Murphy 99 Fwd from Dexter School / CC Whalers had an excellent senior year in which he finished with 42 pts and helped his CC Whalers 18u team to the finals of US Nationals in Philadelphia PA. Hunter Brackett 00 Fwd from Tabor Academy (Plantation FL) had a short season due to injury but still finished close to a point per game. CJR saw first hand Hunter’s impact when he played 2 games with the NCDC team. Kevin Lassman 00 Def from Williston-Northampton (Parkland, FL) is smooth skating, offensive defenseman.
CJR is looking forward to the 2018 NCDC Entry Draft and the impact that group will make for the 2018-19 season.
