NCDC Cyclones, Artyom Borshyov Commits to Quinnipiac University

Congratulations to NCDC 2000-born Defenseman, Artyom Borshyov on committing to Division 1 Quinnipiac University!
 

The Northern Cyclones NCDC team is proud to announce their 4th Division 1 commitment of the 2017-2018 season. 2000-born defenseman, Artyom Borshyov has committed to Quinnipiac University.  Borshyov came to Hudson, NH this past season after playing one year for the Springfield Pics U16 team, where he had a stat line of 4-21-25 in 28 USPHL games.  The Vitebsk, Belarus native also participated in the U18 World Championships last year where he played in 7 games and had two points. 

During his first season with the Cyclones, Borshyov played in all 53 games this season for the NCDC team and had a stat line of 6-24-30. Arty finished third on the team in points and second in assists. He also finished fourth in the NCDC among defenseman in points and third in assists. Arty just finished playing for the 2018 Belarus National team at the U18 World Championships in Russia, last month. He also served at team Captain for Belarus and finished with one goal is five games.

The 6-foot 3 inch and 190-pound defenseman had an impact on Coach Flanagan’s blue-line from day one.  Arty is a player who can make a difference offensively and defensively every time he is on the ice and he showed that every in game this past season. Borshyov is considered a two-way defenseman who skates very well for his size and his compete level is sky high.  Quinnipiac will be looking for Arty to bring his maturity, complete level, and hockey ability to a strong Bobcats line up.

Quinnipiac University is a private university located in Hamden, CT. Their hockey team competes in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), which is Division 1. This past season the Bobcats went 9-11-2 in conference and 16-18-4 overall.  The Bobcats are usually contending for a national tournament bid on a yearly basis.
