Backe on playing for the Generals," I am honored to announce my commitment to further my education and continue my dream of playing college hockey at Trine University. It was a great expierence to play for the Richmond Generals this past season. Throughout the season I have built friendships and memories that I will never forget and cherish always.  Coach Lyke and Coach Hasenzahl are like no other coaches I have had before and they have really pushed me to become a better player on the ice and more importantly a better person off the ice. They are truly passionate about their program, the game, and most importantly their players. Because of them I am thankful to live my life long dream of playing college hockey. I would like to thank Coach Lyke, , The Richmond Generals, my family , and friends for they have supported me through this journey. "

Coach Lyke on Backe,"  Adam is a huge, big bodied, goaltender who takes up a ton of space in the net and is very aggressive at challenging shooters. Adam has a great compete level and has worked extremely hard all year on his development as a player and young man. Adam has a great oppurtunity in front of him with Trine University where he will have the oppurtunity to be one of a select few goaltenders to battle for a spot on the NCAA Division 3 team and if that is not the right fit he will be able to play and be a top goaltender on the top ranked ACHA program. Adam has the ability to be a big game goaltender and we expect him to battle and compete for that NCAA spot. The great thing about this option for Adam is either way he will be playing on a strong college hockey program and getting the opportunity to earn an engineering degree from a great school. I am very proud of Adam and all he has accomplished this season with our program. We wish Adam and the Trine University Hockey Program the best of luck next season! "

Adam becomes the 14th Generals player to commit to a college hockey program for next year. Adam joins former and current Generals players Zachary Jones ( UMass -Amherst NCAA Division 1 ),Cameron Sangster ( Becker College NCAA Division 3 ), Peter Costa ( Anna Maria College NCAA Division 3 ), JT Kossakowski ( Southern New Hampshire University NCAA Division 2 ), Adam Czarnecki ( Milwaukee School of Engineering NCAA Division 3 ), Taylor Urch ( Lawrence University NCAA Division 3 ), Zach Pierce ( Worcester State NCAA Division 3 ), Chad Lopez ( University of Wisconsin Superior NCAA Division 3 ), Alec Allen ( Lawrence Tech University NAIA ), Mike Curran ( Aquinas College NAIA ), Rob Ivy ( Oklahoma University ACHA Division 1 ), David Mitchell ( University of Colorado ACHA Division 1 ) , Jacob Ugenti ( Mercyhurst University ACHA Division 1),
