18u team went 2-1 this weekend. On Friday night the Hitmen beat the Jersey Shore Whalers by a score of 4-1. The hot power play went 2 for 2 seeing goals from Everest Schnieder and Connor Tartaglione. Two even stregth tallies by Oscar Worob rounded out the scoring. Artem Kobylyansky secured his first win of the season turning away 16 shots in a very solid first start.

The 18U Hitmen took a bus road trip to Northwood Prep in Lake Placid, NY the following day. A very physical, tighly matched game eventually needed overtime to decide a winner. Tristian Frese got the scoreing going on the Power Play from a crisp feed from Brett Schnieder and Liam McLinskey late in the first. Northwood answered back in the second period with an even stregth goal. In overtime an Everest Schnieder pass sent Brett Schneider on a breakaway and with a very silky move he burried the puck  with ease. John Werber continued his consistent play turning away 33 saves, with some huge timley saves at the end of the 3rd period and a few to start overtime.

Sunday saw Northwood Prep bounce back with a 5-0 W a game in which they controlled the puck posession and physicallity of the game. The 18U Hitmen will look to get back on track with a mid-week match up with Team Virtua Wednesday night at the Ice Vault as well as the Boston Jr. Bruins Shootout in Mass this weekend which they will match up against: Cape Cod Whalers, Eastern Mass Senators and South Florida Hockey Club.
