FRASER, Mich. – Joey Demarte led the way with three goals and an assist and Brian Tallieu stopped all 15 shots he faced in goal as the Metro Jets defeated the Toledo Cherokee 11-0 Saturday night at Fraser Hockeyland.
All but two Jets skaters recorded at least one point, and Tallieu even registered an assist on the night.
Brandon Graham had a goal and three assists, Connor Graham three assists and Jhuwon Davis added a goal and two assists for the Jets.
“Pucks just went my way – I went to the right spot,” said Demarte. “They weren’t really skilled goals, but I’ll take them. Just a couple lucky bounces.”
Matt Cruz, Tyler German, Brodie Thornton and Anthony Cinato all had a goal and an assist, while Bruce and Song picked up a pair of helpers apiece.
Jets captain Jeremy Schwartz and younger brother Cory Schwartz also scored.
“We preach the habits – keep the game simple,” Jets coach-GM Justin Quenneville said. “Obviously, keep moving the puck. We don’t want anyone getting hurt. I felt like we composed ourselves throughout the game and there are some things we can clean up, but the guys earned this one tonight.”
Parker Simpson and Mason Snyder combined to stop 47 shots in the Toledo net.
The Jets next travel to play the Pittsburgh Vengeance next Saturday night.
Streaming will be available on www.HockeyTV.com.
