The 16U Boston Junior Eagles beat the East Coast Wizards 3-0 Sunday to capture the title in the 16U Division in the Fall Beantown Classic.

"I thought it was a good game, really back and forth,” said Eagles goalie Gavin Fitzpatrick. “I thought we played a good defensive game and offensively we scored three goals."

The Jr. Eagles started out with a 3-1 loss on Friday evening to the Chicago Fury, an upset win by the 42nd seed from the Windy City over the No. 14 ranked Jr. Eagles (rankings provided by MYHockeyrankings.com).

After a decisive shutout victory over the Top Gun/New England Fall Prep League team, the Jr. Eagles went up against the Brantford 99ers, out of Wayne Gretzky's Ontario hometown.

The two teams are ranked 14th in their respective countries, but the Jr. Eagles clearly had the edge in the Saturday evening showdown, winning 6-1.

The semifinals on Sunday morning saw the Jr. Eagles defeat the Elite Hockey Program, 4-0.
