Kings NCDC Sweep Fall Beantown

Kings take down the Junior Bruins, Rochester Monarchs and Connecticut Jr Rangers.

Marlboro, MA - The South Shore Kings NCDC pushed there win streak to four in a row, winning all three games this past weekend at the Fall Beantown Classic.

On Friday, the Kings opened up against the Junior Bruins. Chase Davidson got the Kings on the board just 6:14 into the game. With 40 seconds remaining in the period, James Zegel found the back of the net and that goal would give the Kings a 2-0 lead headed into the first intermission. The Junior Bruins would respond just 48 seconds into the 2nd period. Robbie Griffin found Zach Pellegrino on the back door to cut the Kings lead to 2-1. The Kings would regain a 2 goal lead. Chris Lee picked up a lose puck in front of the net and put it past Bryan McGrath. The Bruins would pull ahead, scoring three goals in the last half of the 2nd period. This would give the Bruins a 4-3 lead after 40 minutes. Just 2:18 into the 3rd period, Quinn McCarthy won a faceoff back to Sam Dabrowski, who ripped one by the left shoulder of McGrath. The game would stay tied for the rest of the game and it would head to overtime. Both teams would exchange chances in the 3 on 3 overtime period. With 25 seconds remaining, Sebastian Janda sent a great pass to the back door where Daniel Dlabaja put it past McGrath to give the Kings a 5-4 Win.

Cal Wilcox made 43 saves in net, including 5 in overtime. Bryan McGrath took the loss for the Junior Bruins, making 30 saves.

On Saturday, the Kings would again jump out a 1-0 lead. Daniel Dlabaja walked down the wall and sent it past Jack Faulkner. Three minutes later, Rochester would answer. Drew Lorinchak would score his first goal of the season on the powerplay just 35 seconds later. In the 2nd period, the Kings would capitalize again on the powerplay. This time it was Chris Lee with his 4th goal of the season, which turned out to be the game winning goal. After 40 minutes, the Kings held a 4-2 lead. Chase Best would provide some insurance for the Kings, sending a puck through traffic by Faulkner.

Cal Wilcox turned aside 26 Rochester shots in the victory. Jack Faulkner made 28 saves in the losing effort for the Monarchs.

On Sunday, the Kings looked to sweep the weekend against the Connecticut Jr Rangers. The Rangers jumped out to a 1-0 lead 8:04 into the 1st period. Cole Hudson would keep it a 1-0 game through 20 minutes. The Kings came out in the 2nd period and found there legs. Rene Troethan tied the game when he grabbed a lose puck off of the end boards and sent it into an open net. Just 47 seconds later, CJR responded a regained its 2-1 lead. Midway through the 2nd period, Matt Hayeswould answer for the Kings. The score remainded tied 2-2 after 40 minutes. Chris Lee would score a powerplay goal off of the faceoff. This gave the Kings a 3-2 lead with 10:50 remaining. Rene Troethan provided an emtpy net goal for the Kings with 39 seconds remaining.

The victory made it 4 in a row for the Kings and a weekend sweep at the Beantown Fall Classic.

Cole Hudson made 37 saves in the Win while Tate Brandon turned aside 47 shots for the Rangers in the loss.

The Kings return to action Saturday November 3rd when they host the New Jersey Rockets for a a weekend series.
