NCDC Players Of The Week: Nov. 6

By Joshua Boyd /, 11/06/18, 10:30PM EST

Congratulations to this week’s National Collegiate Development Conference Players Of The Week!

Forward: Mitchell Shaheen, New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs.

Shaheen has helped to fuel the Monarchs’ rise through the standings, as they’ve now won four games in a row. In the Monarchs’ most recent sweep over the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders, the ‘98 from North Andover, Mass., scored two goals in each of the two games. His second goal in Saturday’s 6-5 win was a shorthanded goal and the game-winner. Defensively, he came away with a +6 rating. He now has eight goals (second on the Monarchs) and 13 points in 19 games.

Defense: Ryan Hogg, Islanders Hockey Club.

Ryan Hogg (‘98/Duncan, B.C.) had two goals for the Islanders in the team’s Saturday loss to the Syracuse Stars.

“He has been extremely noticeable since a breakout weekend at the Hitmen Classic,” said Islanders head coach Sean Tremblay. “He recently committed to NCAA Division 3 powerhouse Plattsburgh State in the State University of New York Athletic Conference. He is expected to come in and play an integral part of the Cardinals’ continuing success.”

Goal: Colten Lancaster, Connecticut Jr. Rangers

Colten Lancaster (‘98/Charlie Lake, B.C.) only recently joined the Rangers from the Monarchs. They put him right into their net against the first place Junior Bruins, who lead the league with 77 goals for.

Colten made 32 saves on Friday night as the Bruins narrowly edged the Rangers, 2-1, and the next night he was back in net again. This time, the Rangers defeated the Junior Bruins with a 35-save performance by Lancaster. It was the Junior Bruins’ first regulation loss since their Sept. 15 opener, and only their second defeat in 60 minutes all season.
