Thursday, Nov. 15
New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs vs. South Shore Kings, Lawler Arena, 12 p.m.
Boston Junior Bruins vs. Boston Bandits, Gallant Arena, 2:30 p.m.
These are the two matchups for Thursday featuring current top six teams against each other. Lawler Arena is the home of Division 1 Merrimack College.
P.A.L. Jr. Islanders vs. Connecticut Jr. Rangers, Gallant Arena, 5 p.m.
Both teams were among the top squads in the NCDC through September, but ran into trouble through the second month of the season. Both on 2-0 runs, they hope to keep climbing - but only one can get the true ‘W’ from this contest.
Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings vs. Islanders Hockey Club, Lawler Arena, 6:40 p.m.
Both teams are relatively close in the standings with similar winning percentages - Islanders at .563 and Wisconsin at .594, but both are on hot streaks. Islanders are on a 3-0 run and Wisconsin has gone 4-0-1 in its last five.
Twin City Thunder vs. Minnesota Mullets, Gallant Arena, 7:30 p.m.
The Thunder just announced their move to the tuition-free NCDC for next year, and they’ll be on prime time Thursday night.
Florida Eels vs. Boston Junior Bruins, Skate 3 Red, 8 p.m.
The only Elite game this day features teams on winning streaks - the Eels are defending a 4-0 run and the Junior Bruins are hoping for a resurgence on their season with a 2-0 run.
Friday, Nov. 16
Islanders Hockey Club vs. Connecticut Jr. Rangers, Tsongas Center, 12:30 p.m.
Playing on the home ice of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, the showcase host Islanders are hoping to kickstart their season, which has seen them hover at or below .500 after two straight Dineen Cup championships.
Northern Cyclones vs. MJDP, Skate 3 Red, 8 a.m.
This is the earliest showdown at the Showcase between two teams currently in the top 20 overall of the 51-team USPHL Premier Division.
South Shore Kings vs. Florida Eels, Skate 3 Red, 9:50 a.m.
This should be a great matchup between one of the New England Division’s top teams, the Kings (.688) and the current Florida Division second-place Eels (.632).
Boston Bandits vs. Dells Ducks, Gallant Arena, 11:40 am
Out of the New England and Midwest West Division come two teams on long winning streaks heading into the showcase. The Bandits entered Thursday going 5-0 and the Ducks are 4-0 in recent action.
Lansing Wolves vs. New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs, Skate 3 White, 1:20 p.m.
A battle of two division leaders - the Lansing Wolves lead the Great Lakes Division, and the Monarchs are tied for first in the New England Division.
New Jersey Hitmen vs. Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings, Gallant Arena, 1:30 p.m.
Another faceoff of two hot teams entering the showcase. The Hitmen arrived at the Showcase with a 6-0 winning streak, and as aforementioned, the Riverkings entered at 4-0-1.
Minnesota Blue Ox vs. Jersey Shore Whalers, Skate 3 White, 5 p.m.
Another pair of hot hands in this matchup, with the Blue Ox coming to Massachusetts winning their last six, and the Whalers looking to ramp up their season on a 3-0-1 run coming in.
Metro Jets vs. Islanders Hockey Club, Gallant Arena, 7 p.m.
Our last in the series of “hot hand” games, the Metro Jets were on a 7-0 run coming into the Showcase, and the Islanders entered winning their last three. Both teams are in the top half of the league, winning percentage-wise.
New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs vs. New Jersey Hitmen, Skate 3 White, 7:50 a.m.
The top two Elite Division teams present at the showcase meet in the second game for the division. The Hitmen are 14-2-0-1 for second in the league and the Monarchs are 13-3-0-0 for third.
Northern Cyclones vs. Tampa Bay Juniors, Skate 3 Blue, 8 a.m.
The Cyclones and Juniors are top 10 teams overall, and both entered on winning streaks of 3-0 and 6-0 respectively.
Florida Eels vs. Northern Cyclones, Skate 3 White, 3:10 p.m.
Once again, the Cyclones (fourth overall with an .808 winning percentage) meet a top 10 team in the Eels (.675, ninth).
New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs vs. New Jersey Rockets, Skate 3 Blue, 8:50 p.m.
The third-place Monarchs take on a Rockets team that is trying to crack the top 10 at 12th overall and won their last two coming into the week.
Springfield Pics vs. Connecticut Jr. Rangers, Essex Sports Center, 8:50 p.m.
An early meeting of two top 10 teams, with the Pics holding a winning percentage of .750 (8-2-1-1) and the Rangers standing at .688 (5-2-1-0).
Northern Cyclones vs. P.A.L. Jr. Islanders, Essex Sports Center, 11:40 a.m.
The Cyclones are a top 10 team overall in the 16U Division, at 7-3-0-0, while the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders are trying to work their way up to that distinction, and have won their last two to stand at 5-3-0-0 in league play.
Islanders Hockey Club vs. Palmyra Black Knights, Ristuccia Memorial Arena, 2 p.m.
The Islanders enter their showcase on a run of 4-0-1, while Palmyra is 6-2-0-2 in its last 10 games after an 0-3 start in league play.
Northern Cyclones vs. New York Aviators, Skate 3 Blue, 7 p.m.
The Cyclones (7-3-0-0) entered showcase play in seventh place in winning percentage (.700) and the Aviators were fourth at 8-2-0-1.
