Congratulations to this week’s Players Of The Week from the Elite North Divisions, the North and Mid-Atlantic.
Forward: Tyler Sutton, New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs.
Sutton (‘00/Denver, Colo.) racked up a hat trick and added two assists as the Monarchs picked up a decisive win against Springfield on Dec. 2. One night earlier, he also had an assist for a six-point weekend, helping the Monarchs to move into a tie for first overall in the entire USPHL Elite Division.
Defense: Matt Powers, Boston Junior Bruins.
Powers (‘02/Peabody, Mass.) rose to become the leading scorer of the Junior Bruins from the blue line, thanks in large part to a six-point weekend against the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack. He had two goals and two assists on Sunday, after posting a pair of goals on Saturday as well. He now has 14 points through 18 games played.
Goal: John Markert, New Jersey Rockets.
Markert (‘99/Franklin Lakes, N.J.) stopped 23 of 24 shots on Saturday night on Long Island against Team Beijing to help the Rockets to a 5-1 win. Markert improved to 5-2-2 on the season, and between Nov. 3 and Dec. 2, he has registered a .934 save percentage and a 3-1 record.
