Congratulations to the USPHL 18U Players Of The Week, with this edition taking into account 18U league games played from Nov. 24 through Dec. 9.
Forward: Jacob Ducharme, New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs.
Prior to Dec. 1, the Monarchs hadn’t played a USPHL league game since Nov. 11. They’ve returned with a vengeance, going 4-1, their only loss a 1-0 defeat at the hands of CP Dynamo on Dec. 1.
Ducharme is one of many Monarchs forwards who have been on fire, especially over the Dec. 8-9 weekend series at Rochester, N.Y. Ducharme has scored 11 points in his last four games, starting with a goal and an assist against CP Dynamo on Dec. 2, one assist vs. the Northern Cyclones on Dec. 5, two goals and three assists in the first game against Rochester, and two goals and an assist in the Dec. 9 contest in Rochester. Ducharme (‘01/Derby Line, Vt.) now has 21 points in 13 games.
Defense: Declan Bronte, New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs.
The Monarchs’ 2001-born import from Werribee, Australia, has picked up his play since the start of December, scoring a goal and four assists for five of his total seven points on the season. He had two assists in each of the two most recent games.
Goal: Jake Brown, Jersey Shore Whalers.
Brown (‘01/Chatham, N.J.) stopped 46 of 50 shots in a close 5-4 defeat at the hands of the New Jersey Rockets, only his second loss of the entire 2018-19 season. In the weekend immediately after Thanksgiving, he posted a pair of wins over the Maine Moose, stopping 32 of 34 shots and earning his first shutout of the season.
