By Joshua Boyd /, 01/02/19, 10:30PM EST

Forward: Gene Bouthiette, Springfield Jr. Pics.

This ‘99 out of Enfield, Conn., continues to rack up the offense for a Pics team that is steadily climbing up the Northeast Division standings.

Bouthiette scored 12 points over his six games in December, which included four multiple point outings. The highlight was a night of two goals and three assists against the Junior Bruins on Dec. 8.

Bouthiette upped his league-leading goals total to 29 in 28 games this season. Along with his 23 assists, he now has 52 points, good for sixth in the 51-team Premier Division.

Honorable Mention: Arkhip Ledenkov, New York Aviators; Bryan O’Mara, Skipjacks Hockey Club.

Defense: Egan Wolford, New York Aviators.

The October Player Of The Month recaptures the title for December. One thing that hasn’t changed since October is that the Aviators keep winning - they are now on a 15-0 winning streak entering the 2019 USPHL Winter Showcase.

Wolford (‘98/San Jose, Calif.) has been back and forth with the Skipjacks Hockey Club’s Trevor Dixon - November’s Defenseman Of The Month - as the leading scorer among all Premier blueliners just about all season so far.

Wolford enters the showcase with nine goals and 30 assists for 39 points through 27 games, two points ahead of Dixon after 2018 ended. In December, Wolford contributed nine of those points through just four games played for the Aviators.

Honorable Mention: Trevor Dixon, Skipjacks Hockey Club; Luke Olivo, Syracuse Stars.

Goal: Luke Eslinger, Skipjacks Hockey Club.

The Skipjacks are among the top USPHL Premier teams, thanks in large part to the boost they created in going 4-0-1 in their last five games of 2018, and 7-2-1-0 in their last 10.

Eslinger (‘98/Hershey, Pa.) went 4-1 himself in net during December, earning two shutouts and giving up just six goals total in five appearances. He made 144 saves on 150 shots for a .960 save percentage in December.

Eslinger shut out the New Jersey Hitmen in back-to-back games on Dec. 16 and 17, stopping 32 and 25 shots, respectively to close out the 2018 portion of the season. His 12 wins this year give him a tie for seventh in that category in the USPHL Premier Division.

Honorable Mention: Nick Howard, Northern Cyclones; Jake Horoho, South Shore Kings.
