Winter Showcase Day 4: High-ranking teams meet for close contests

New Jersey Rockets 6, P.A.L. Junior Islanders 5 (OT) - The Rockets took a 3-0 lead, but in the end had to play the overtime session after the Islanders clawed back from being down 5-1, tying it with 49 seconds left off the stick of Noah Kane. Paul Bryer, with his third goal, got the game-winner with 4.4 seconds remaining in overtime. Bryer also had an assist. 


Twin City Thunder 4, Wooster Oilers 2 - Jeromey Rancourt and Zachary Desmarais each scored one goal and two assists, as the Thunder completed a 4-0 showcase run. 

Metro Jets 3, South Shore Kings 2 (OT) - Despite a game-tying goal by Dash Quartarolo within the final minute, the Metro Jets were able to get the win in OT. Jaylen Dziegelewski registered the game-winner. 

Richmond Generals 5, Skipjacks Hockey Club 2 - Stephan Owens led the Generals with a goal and two assists. 

Jersey Shore Whalers 11, Tri-City IceHawks 2 - Conor Deverin scored five goals and assisted another in a big victory for the Whalers. 

Potomac Patriots 3, Islanders Hockey Club 2 (SO) - Kalen Guimond scored a goal and an assist, while Adam Svoboda notched the shootout winner. 

Boston Junior Bruins 7, MJDP 1 - Bryce Chaput scored three goals for the Junior Bruins, playing on their home ice. They went 2-2 for the weekend. 

Motor City Hockey Club 5, New York Aviators 4 - Defenseman Alec Porzondek scored the game-tying and game-winning goals for Motor City, who split in their only time East so far this year. 

Metro Jets 2, Boston Bandits 1 - The Jets’ Anthony Cinato scored the game-winning goal with 4:10 remaining, and the Jets left New England with a 3-1 record so far in 2019. 

Toledo Cherokee 6, Jersey Shore Whalers 3 - Bailey Byrd scored a hat trick as the Cherokee closed the entire 2019 Winter Showcase with a win and a 2-2 record. 

New York Aviators 4, Potomac Patriots 3 - Seth Payson scored two goals including the game-winner. 

New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs 1, Richmond Generals 0 - Paul Coats made 26 saves for the shutout, and Tyler Sutton scored the only goal necessary for the Monarchs’ third and final win of the weekend.
