Congratulations to these Players Of The Week from the Southern Divisions of the USPHL Elite, for the first time this season all from one team as selected by a committee of divisional coaches.
Forward: Garrett Auriene, Carolina Eagles.
Aurienne (‘01/Youngsville, N.C.) blasted out of the 2019 gates at the USPHL Winter Showcase, helping the Eagles go 4-0, after a similar 4-0 run at the USPHL Florida Showcase. In Marlboro, Mass., between Jan. 4-7, he started with three assists in a win over the Southeast Division-leading Hampton Roads Whalers. The next day, against the Springfield Jr. Pics, he scored a hat trick, including the GWG, and added one assist. He also had a goal vs. the New Jersey Rockets and an assist against the Boston Junior Bruins for a nine-point performance.
Defense: Dylan Blue, Carolina Eagles.
Blue (‘02/Raleigh, N.C.) put up a three-goal, seven-point weekend at the USPHL Winter Showcase. He had four assists against the Whalers, and then one goal in each of the next three games, including the game-winner against the Rockets. Like Auriene, he has been able to earn time this season with the USPHL Premier Eagles.
Goal: Mike Beck, Carolina Eagles.
The ‘01 out of Apex, N.C. earned one of the two shutout wins for the Eagles, stopping 20 shots by the Springfield Jr. Pics. He earned his other win against the Junior Bruins, giving up three goals in that game. Beck is now 4-4-1-1 on the season for the surging Eagles.
