North Andover, MA –The Islanders Hockey Club NCDC team is pleased to announce Hunter Carrick has been added to their roster for the remainder of the season.  Carrick is a Penn State recruit and hails from Orland Park, Illinois.  He played his midget hockey for the Oakland Grizzlies along with Andrew Andary, a current IHC forward.

GM/Head Coach Sean Tremblay offered, “We drafted Hunter last May and then flew to Chicago to meet with him and his father, Jory.  I knew it wasn’t a certainty, but we had established a great relationship and this is the end result.  Hunter is a strong skater with a good stick who we will spend a lot of time teaching how to defend and distribute the puck efficiently.  He has pro potential and our job is to bring that out in him.  He will log big minutes for us and he will improve week to week as he understands and learns our systems.  I see us getting him to play a similar game to that of Brian Dumoulin when he played for me.  While we won’t ask him to limit his game offensively, we want him to know who he is as a player long term and develop great defensive habits.  I know Coach Dyment and I are thrilled to have him here and we welcome him to the IHC Family.”

The 6’1, 189 left-shot defender is a 2000 born player and will make his debut this weekend when the IHC takes on the New Hampshire Monarchs in a home and home series.  Game one will be in NH at 4:30pm on Saturday and the two teams will square up again on Sunday at 12pm at Merrimack College.
