Congratulations to our Players Of The Week from the Florida and Southeast Divisions!

Forward: Drew Tait-Rheaume, DME Swamp Rabbits.

Rheaume (‘99/Norway House, Man.) scored the two goals needed for the Swamp Rabbits to defeat Florida Division rival the Florida Eels and reclaim a share of the division’s top spot with the Eels. This included the game-winning goal with 22 seconds remaining. Tait-Rheaume joined the Swamp Rabbits in November and has scored six of his seven points on the season in his five January games so far.

Defense: Austin Mourar, Richmond Generals.

Mourar (‘99/Spring City, Pa.) has been the dominant force for the Generals all season, leading the team in scoring as a defenseman nearly from Day 1 of the season. In the Generals’ Sunday game against the Potomac Patriots, he factored in on four of Richmond’s five goals scored in the 5-2 victory - this included the game-winning goal early in the third period. He also had three assists, helping his team bounce back in a big way from a tough loss to Potomac one day earlier.

Goal: Sebastian Nilsson, DME Swamp Rabbits.

In the same game that Tait-Rheaume was a hero, Nilsson (‘99/Skelleftea, Sweden) shared that title, making 45 saves on 46 Florida Eels shots for the win that drew the Swamp Rabbits even at first in the Florida Division. Over the last two months, from mid-November to mid-January, he’s gone 3-1-0-1 with a .940 save percentage.
