Congratulations to these winners from the USPHL Premier Midwestern Divisions!
Forward: Scott Wargin, Decatur Blaze.
Wargin (‘98/Worth, Ill.) had a monstrous three-game stretch over the weekend, posting six goals and five assists.
The Blaze defeated the Midwest Blackbirds in two games and added one more win over the Detroit Fighting Irish. In Friday’s win, Wargin scored three goals and added two assists. Wargin had two helpers in Saturday’s OT win over the Blackbirds, and he had a second hat trick for the weekend against Detroit, adding one more assist.
He now has 17 goals and 42 points in 30 games this season.
Defense: Raymond Fleming, Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings.
Fleming (‘98/Palo Alto, Calif.) was a major part of the Riverkings’ crucial 7-3 win over the Minnesota Mullets, scoring a power play goal and adding three assists. Fleming is a second-year Riverking and he has scored 10 goals and 30 points in 38 games, making him one of the top 20 scorers among all USPHL Premier defensemen so far this year.
Goal: Jack Bostedt, Minnesota Mullets.
Bostedt (‘99/Janesville, Wis.) is a second-year Mullets goalie, and he continues to get the job done as he has back to the fall of 2017. This past weekend, he posted 40 saves in a 4-0 shutout over the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings, including stopping all 16 shots he faced in the third period.
He also made 34 saves one night earlier as the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings earned that win. Bostedt is now 14-10-1-1 for the Mullets.
