Congratulations to this week’s USPHL Elite Division Players Of The Week from the Southern Divisions (Florida and Southeast).
Forward: Zachary Boulet, Richmond Generals.
Boulet (‘01/St. Catharines, Que.) has only been with the Generals since January, but has made a huge impact early on, scoring 16 points in his first 11 games.
He had a very rare shorthanded hat trick on Feb. 3, including the game-winner. All told, he had five goals on the weekend, including two on Saturday (also scoring the game-winner there).
His current point streak has given him 12 points in his last six games.
Defense: James Rowe, Hampton Roads Whalers.
Rowe (‘99/Fort Myers, Fla.) picked up the game-winning goal on Saturday against the Carolina Eagles, and added an assist in Sunday’s win to complete a sweep weekend.
Rowe continues to be one of the top defensemen in the Elite league, and he is third in the entire league with eight goals and 38 points in 42 games.
Goal: Greg Moon, Hampton Roads Whalers.
The Whalers and Richmond Generals are in a fight to the finish for the Southeast Division title, but a sweep of Carolina this past weekend definitely helped the Whalers.
Moon (‘99/Franklin, Mass.) was in net for both wins, stopping 84 of the 89 shots he faced for a .944 save percentage.
He joined in December and is now second in goals against average, with a 1.90, and fourth in save percentage (.934) among goalies with at least 400 minutes played. He is also 8-0 on the season.
