Decatur Blaze earns home split with Chicago Cougars

DECATUR, Ill. - The Decatur Blaze picked up a weekend split with the Chicago Cougars at the Decatur Civic Center.

 

 

Friday night, Remy Champoux made 65 saves as the Blaze beat the Cougars 4-2.

 

 

Scott Wargin (pictured) posted a goal and two assists, while TJ Dougan, Anthony Beltrame and Cade Saeugling scored one each. 

 

 

Then Saturday night, Saeugling and Artem Alekhin scored in the third period, but Chicago escaped with a 3-2 win.

 

 

Champoux finished with 58 stops between the pipes.

 

 

Dougan and Wargin added two assists apiece.

 

 

Decatur wraps up the regular season next weekend with a home-and-home set with the Midwest Blackbirds.

 

 

Game time Friday night from the Midwest Training & Ice Center in Dyer, Ind., is 6:20 p.m., while Saturday night's game at the Decatur Civic Center is set for 7:30 p.m.
