Congratulations to the Players Of The Week from the National Collegiate Development Conference, all of whom were top performers at the South Shore Kings Showcase between Feb. 14-16.

Forward: Tie - Philip Elgstam, New Jersey Hitmen; Nick Charron, Rochester Jr. Monarchs.

Elgstam (‘98/Stockholm, Sweden) continued his 19-game point streak, scoring two goals and two assists for a four-point weekend. He has 30 points over those 19 games.

One of his two goals this weekend was the game-winner against the Junior Bruins, which clinched the regular season championship Founders Cup for the Hitmen.

Charron (‘98/Spencerport, N.Y.) scored three goals and one assist in three games this past weekend at the South Shore Kings Showcase. In the Rochester Jr. Monarchs’ 7-4 win against the Boston Bandits, Charron had two goals and an assist and was instrumental in all three zones helping to secure the win.

Defense: David Regan, Rochester Jr. Monarchs.

Regan (‘00/Rochester, N.Y.) had a solid weekend at the South Shore Kings Showcase, capping it off on Saturday in the win against the Boston Bandits. In that win, Regan had two goals and two assists, all of which proved to be imperative in securing the win. Regan was steady and solid on the blue line all weekend, anchoring a Monarchs defensive core that was short due to injuries and illness.

Goal: Jake Begley, New Jersey Hitmen.

Begley (‘99/Lake Forest, Ill.) has gotten off to a 3-0 start since joining the Hitmen this month, including a 2-0 stand to help the Hitmen sweep the showcase this past weekend. He stopped 49 of 52 shots by the Junior Bruins and the Islanders Hockey Club.
