More USPHL Players Selected at NHL Entry Draft

Sunrise, FL- The US Premier Hockey League is proud to announce the selections of Jack Eichel (Junior Bruins), Roope Hintz (Tampa Bay Juniors), Conor Garland (Junior Bruins), and John Marino (South Shore Kings) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft in Sunrise, FL.

Boston, MA- The US Premier Hockey League congratulates alumni Jack Eichel (Junior Bruins) and Jimmy Vesey (South Shore Kings) on being named First Team All-Americans.

Eichel, a freshman at Boston University, posted 70 points (26 goals, 44 assists) this season, leading the Terriers to the 2015 National Championship Game. He also played for Team USA in the 2015 World Junior Championship, serving as the captain and tallying four points (1 goal, three assists) in five games. The North Chelmsford, MA, native led the Terriers to their first Frozen Four appearance since 2009 and is expected to be chosen with one of the first two picks in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Vesey, a junior at Harvard, leads the NCAA in goals (32), sits second in points per game (1.57), and is third in total scoring (58) points in 37 games. The North Reading, MA, native led the Crimson to their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2006 and won the Walter Brown Award, presented to the top American-born college hockey player in New England. He was selected by the Nashville Predators in the third round (66th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Jimmy and Jack are among the ten alumni of USPHL member teams to earn this honor.

Toronto, ON- The National Hockey League (NHL) Central Scouting final rankings have been released for the 2015 NHL Draft and seven USPHL players, both past and present, are on the list.

Two current players, John Marino (South Shore Kings) and Lucas Michaud (Portland Jr. Pirates) appear on the list. Marino was ranked 63rd overall and Michaud was given the 138th ranking.

The list also includes three Junior Bruins alumni and two former players from the Islanders Hockey Club. Leading the way is former Bruin Jack Eichel at number 2, followed by Connor Garland (86) and Brien Diffley (136). Islanders alumni Connor Moynihan was ranked 156th and Liam Darcy was ranked 204th.

The 2015 NHL Entry Draft will be hosted by the Florida Panthers at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL. The first round will take place on June 26 and the remaining six rounds will be held on June 27th. Last season, six USPHL players and alumni were selected.
